Yes, we are Vancouver’s oldest mattress only store!!!

It was the summer of 1994. We (Allan and Jeff) had left Vancouver Furniture Company which had been in Vancouver since 1946. Selling Simmons Beautyrest mattresses had always been a major part of our furniture business.

While brainstorming with friends in the furniture industry, we were particularly inspired by a suggestion by the Simmons Company..a unique mattress only retail store, offering Simmons Beautyrest of course.

And so we were off and running.

In a small adventure at first. For starters, Jeff (that’s me) had always been a furniture management guy before this. Now, I had to learn to be a sales person, at least for a while. My dad, Allan, my wife, Sherri, and our son Brent who was home from college. all pitched in. Before we opened we made some significant decisions. Taking care of people with outstanding customer service would be a priority. We decided then and there to charge NO sales tax. we would pay it for our customers. Also, we would offer free delivery and set-up. Plus our prices would always reflect our policy of better sleep for less, Less than the chain stores. Here we are, still sticking to our decisions. More beds, colder weather

Soon we were bursting at the seams. One store serving as showroom and warehouse was no longer big enough. We had more than the ones and twos of a kind now. The weather became chilly; the time had come to buy a truck and open a warehouse!

Not just bigger, Better!

Mattress Factory Outlet now has three delivery trucks. Plus, we now receive 3 huge factory trucks a week. We have now gone from no warehouse to expanding to larger warehouses 3 times. We carry a larger inventory than most stores so we can deliver to our customers today or tomorrow. Our selection that we offer to our customers has grown too. We now carry, in stock, over 50 different choices in queen and king.

Better sleep for Less is still our policy

We have kept our overhead and operating cost low. We don’t have the multi-million dollar advertising budget that our competitors do. Who do you think pays for that anyway? Also, we are affiliated with Pacific Furniture Dealers, the largest furniture buying group in the northwest! Our buying power saves YOU money. We still do not inflate our prices to create phony sales offers. Our everyday low prices are comparable to, or lower than, many of our competitors’ 30-50% off sales. Our customers are still able to save $300-$1000 here on the same BRAND NEW Beautyrest sets as shown in Portland chain stores. We still pay the tax for every customer and we still treat every customer as our neighbor because they really are.

Community matters to us.

All year we are consistently working with local service agencies. We feel it is our responsibility to serve those in our community who are in need. Example: when we pick up a useable sleep set from a customer, we work with several local agencies, and deliver that bed to someone who really needs it.
